He had ME well trained!
One day all of that changed. I went to pick up some hockey tickets I’d purchased from someone on line. When I arrived at their apartment, I was greeted immediately by a large gray cat.
After a minute or two of being thoroughly checked out by “Smoky”, his owner told Smoky to come and sit. And he did! I laughed and said it was almost like he’d been trained. I was informed that Smoky was indeed trained and the owner proceeded to show me numerous other tricks Smoky was capable of.
I was completely dumbfounded! A trained cat! I simply could not believe it!
But the whole drive home I was thinking of things for my incredibly smart cat to learn. And he did. After spending much of my time studying books, and questioning anyone I could find who knew anything about cat training, I began applying my knowledge to Martin. Within a relatively short period of time Martin was showing off a few tricks to amazed friends and family members.
That of course, was only the beginning. In very short order bad behaviors, were replaced with good ones and, as the saying goes, the rest is history. Numerous people offered to buy Martin from me.
